Adding Your Teen Driver To Your Insurance: 1

teendriver1

In this day and age, it is pretty average for a child to be on his or her parent’s insurance, however, recently, in a comparison study, it seems that the average child on his or her parents insurance seems to have increased.
The study actually compared drivers ages and their car insurance coverage over the course of a year to determine whether the older drivers were still staying under their parent’s policies.

What are some of the main reasons why a child would want to stay on their parent’s policy?  Well, that is exactly what we are going to go over in the next few blogs, so that way you know exactly why your teen might want to stay on your policy.

The Importance of Travel Insurance: 3

travel-3So, let’s talk about a serious bane of travel, especially travel by plane or by train: lost baggage.

There just so happens to be baggage insurance. In many cases, insurance for cancellations or interruptions will contain coverage for bags which are damaged, lost, stolen, or otherwise delayed — but not all of them do, and often, it can be beneficial to purchase extra coverage. Mind you, however, this extra coverage typically is not necessary if you are merely flying from city to city or state to state. Abroad, however, extra coverage or a larger cancellation policy is a good idea.

There are lots of different types of travel insurance. When you are planning a trip, especially during the holiday season, you should really do some research to see what type of insurance will be most beneficial.

The Importance of Travel Insurance: 2

travel-2Some types of travel insurance simply are not necessary. Flight insurance, for instance, tends to be too expensive to do much good.

Trip cancellation and/or interruption insurance can be helpful but only under certain circumstances. If you paid a few hundred dollars for a flight, not so much. But expensive tickets or cruise trips, oh yeah, cancellation insurance is definitely a good idea. However, get it independently, rather than from whatever company provides the trip.

It is also extremely important that you check out your health care insurance before you travel. You need to see if you are already covered even if you are abroad. Many people think they do when they actually do not, and that can make for a really hairy situation.

The Importance of Travel Insurance: 1

travel-1The holiday season is upon us, and literally hundreds of millions of people will be traveling by various means — by trains, planes, and automobile, to quote a Steve Martin and John Candy masterpiece. But there may be one thing you have forgotten as you gear up for your own holiday travel plans: travel insurance.

This type of insurance is very important but too rarely considered. Given the state of the airports in particular, though, it can be just the thing to make sure your trip goes smoothly — that you get all your luggage, that your health is taken care of, and that you get to where you are going with everything in tact.

Travel insurance can come in handy if: your flight gets canceled; you lose your bags, and there is medication in them; you lose your wallet and passport, or they get stolen; you get injured in an accent; your trip has to be canceled; the company with whom you are traveling goes bankrupt; you are in a foreign country and have a medical emergency; weather forces evacuation; and many others.
